BILL COLEMAN MUSIC
Bill began playing the guitar at age twelve and was a full time musician by age sixteen. His classical studies began with the court guitar instructor to the Emperor of Japan and continued at San Diego State College. Bill studied jazz with grammy award winner Joe Pass and Nat "King" Cole's guitarist John Collins. During the Vietnam war, Bill served as guitarist for the Air Force Band performing for presidential functions and dignitaries from around the world.

Acclaimed by Leonard Feather in "Down Beat" magazine as a guitarist "rich in melodic invention", Bill's jazz career has included appearances with Blue Mitchell, Jerome Richardson, Mundell Lowe, Charles McPherson and a host of others. Pop music stars have also sought him as an accompanist and he has appeared with Nell Carter, Lilius White, Bob Hope, Patti Page, Mickey Rooney, The Fifth Dimension, The Platters, Diahann Carroll, Marilyn McCoo, and the Smothers Brothers. Bill's orchestral experience includes the broadway shows Cabaret, Eubie, Mack and Mabel, Showboat, Westside Story, Kiss Me Kate, Fiddler On The Roof, Sugar Babies and Camelot.

The versatile Bill Coleman is also sought after for his "one-man" band or sequenced presentation. This includes the sounds of keyboards, bass, and drums, and is perfect for the client who wants the energy of a small group from a solo performer.
